Volunteer Appreciation Day/Musical Sunday 4-12-15
Jim Bartholomew is a Roselle hometown treasure, known to many of us from his appearances at the Taste of Roselle and all around Chicagoland during a musical career spanning more than four decades.
Jim’s first instrument was the trumpet, with which he accompanied his accordion-playing mother for SRO performances in their Roselle living room. But when Jim saw the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show, it ignited a lifelong passion for music, and Jim picked up the guitar and began performing in small folk clubs in Chicago.
Over the years, Jim has performed as a feature vocalist with popular Chicago groups, including The Maroons, Cactus Jack, Mojo Skillet, and Class of ’68. Jim has also appeared in concert with major label artists like Fleetwood Mac, The Kingston Trio, Richey Furay, Loretta Lynn, Tom T. Hall, Marty Robbins
