#RandomReview - Head On

This was a great story - part sports story (really!), part mystery, part FBI procedural (is there such a thing?) and all sci fi. I loved it, and I can't even begin to explain what it was about in a short review.
Suffice it to say that Duane Chapman, a fair but not great player for the Boston Bays Hilketa team dies during a preseason game and 2 FBI agents try to solve the mystery of why, how and who did it. What is Hilketa, you ask? Well, it's kind of like football, but you score points by ripping off the head of the "goat" on the opposing team and throwing, kicking, carrying or otherwise getting it over the goal line. Duane was the goat for the third time in this game when he died. Duane, like all the players on the team had Haden's Syndrome, so it was not his physical body on the playing field, but a "threep" (like a robot body) that he was piloting. Somehow, he died. How, why and who?
All I can say is, it was really good!
Why you picked it up: I saw a short review in passing and it sounded like something I would enjoy.
Why you finished it: It combined some of my favorite elements: mystery, complex plotting, snappy dialogue, and science fiction.
Who you would recommend it to: I would recommend it to sci-fi fans and mystery fans.
