Summer Reading Book Review - Virgil Wander

Book Title: Virgil Wander

Author: Leif Enger

Reviewed By: Jessica F.

Virgil Wander is a quirky, uplifting story about a small, upstate Minnesota community that has seen better days. After Virgil's car flies off a bridge, he must recover from the accident and learn to live with a brain injury. Helped along the way by the community members and a kite making visitor, Virgil discovers a changed perspective on life. However, there are dark things afoot that may upend Virgil's newfound happiness. Filled with funny moments, rich characters, and a wonderful setting, Virgil Wander is a joy to read.

Why I Finished It: Great writing, humor, richly drawn characters, and some mythical undertones

I’d Give this Book To: People who enjoy positive literary fiction, people who enjoy small town fiction, book clubs.
